Born and raised in Los Angles, Robert Wear found his passion for music at a very early age. As a teenager, he began exploring music production and remixing. While other teens picked up a guitar, Robert instead chose a Tascam deck and began his career by editing on his 4-track reel to reel. That led to his developing a strong following in L.A.'s industrial music club scene, all while absorbing new music as a manager at the iconic Tower Records.
Shortly thereafter, Robert began a 20-year career working for Who Did That Music (later Groove Addicts), a major commercial music company in Los Angeles, producing music and sound for literally hundreds of commercial campaigns. There he worked with clients such as: Disney, Honda, Mercedes, Gatorade, Sony, etc; Saatchi & Saatchi, JWT, DDB, Leo Burnett, Y&R, etc. Robert also collaborated with A-list feature film composers such as: Danny Elfman, Don Davis, Christopher Young, and Basil Poledouris.
Under his alias, The Erektor, Robert was highly sought-after to produce albums for bands within the L.A. gothic/industrial scene and beyond. His production and remixing skills gained attention and led to official releases for artists such as Wumpscut, Leaether Strip, Nitzer Ebb and Angelspit. His strong artistic sense naturally lent itself well to the world of production music, and his work has been used in major campaigns including Mission Impossible, Peppermint, Red Sparrow, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Wall, Life, Avengers 2, Don’t Breathe, Taken 3, Fantastic Four, The Maze Runner, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Lucy, and Edge Of Tomorrow.
